Lake Como has been a place of relaxation and a holiday destination since the days of the Etruscans who came before the Romans. As one of the most beautiful Italian Lakes it has been admired for its’ blue waters, cleanliness and fresh air. Many rich Italians and foreigners relax in luxurious villas in the woodlands overlooking the lake. Today, in Bellagio and most of the towns around the shores of Lake Como are a favourite with tourists, walkers, cyclists and swimmers.

For sheer variety of activities and attractions Lake Como definitely has the edge on its’ two rivals Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda. Swimming in fresh water lakes,with no waves to bother you, is surely an experience not to be missed. For those of you who are a bit more adventurous, Como is the home to many of Italy’s former world championship Water Skiing champions, Its’ glass like appearance makes it an ideal nursery slope for those who wish to take up this exhilarating sport.

For those of you who are less sporty but, nevertheless wish to stay fit and healthy whilst on holiday we suggest you try one of the Hotel’s organised Walking Excursions... walk the Lake whilst stopping off at some of the more popular attractions like Villa Serbelloni and Villa Carlotta. For those who wish to venture off piste we can suggest some hiking paths which are rugged and unattended but simply unrivalled for their scenery.

Dining out – well you are in Italy – is in itself an acitivity and certainly an experience to be enjoyed all’aperto (open air) in the Summer Months.
