Do all of your rooms contain private facilities i.e.
a private bathroom inside the room?
Yes all of the hotel’s 42 rooms contain a private bathroom
for exclusive use by the clients in that room. The bathroom contains
either bathtub or shower. Complimentary toiletries including
soap, shampoo and shower cap are provided free of charge. Soft
towels and a Hairdryer complete the facilities on offer in the
bathrooms.
Do
all the rooms have a good View?
Yes,
all of the contain a either a front view of the Lake or a side
view of the Lake together with a view of the main Piazza in Bellagio.
Do
all the rooms have a Balcony or Terrace?
All
of the rooms with a front lake view contain either a balcony 3
Square Metres or a terrace 18 Square Metres. The rooms with a side
lake view do not have either a balcony or terrace however, use
of the Hotel’s Large Rooftop Terrace Solarium is complimentary
and open to all clients.
How
do you get here from Milan Malpensa Airport or Milano Central
train station with public transportation?
Arriving
by air to Milan Malpensa Airport we suggest you two different ways
to reach us: Catch the Bus Shuttle from Milan Malpensa Airport to Milan Centrale
train station (journey time 50 minutes); in Milan Centrale train
station catch the train to Varenna/Esino (line Milan/Lecco/Sondrio,
journey time 1 hour and 20 minutes) and then in Varenna catch the
Ferry to Bellagio (journey time 20 minutes). From Malpensa Airport catch the train Malpensa Express to Saronno,
in Saronno change Train to Como Lago (journey time 1 hour and 30
minutes); from Como you can either take the Bus number C30 (blue
bus and the stop is directly outside the train station; journey
time to Bellagio is 1 hour and 10 minutes) and the bus drops you
off 100 metres from our hotel. Alternatively when you are in Como
you can take the hydrofoil boat service (the landing stage is 100
metres from the train station, journey time 40 minutes) which is
much faster.

breakfast included in the Room Rate?
Yes,
a rich buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. You may help
yourself to an array of breakfast items including cereals, fresh
milk, yoghurt, fresh seasonal fruit, prunes, pineapple, fruit salad,
home made pastries and cakes, ham, salami, boiled eggs, fresh bread,
rolls, butter, marmelade, jams, fresh fruit juices, teas, coffees
and cappuccino.
Does
the Hotel have a Swimming Pool?
No,
the hotel itself does not have its’ own swimming pool but
is happy to suggest one. Alternatively, why not use the free beach
only a 10 minute walk from our hotel and bathe in the Lake... the
water is clean and refreshing and does not contain chlorine.
Does
the hotel have a Solarium?
Yes,
the Metropole has a Solarium which is on the rooftop. Access is
free and open to all residents of the Hotel. Sunbeds are provided
free of charge
Does
the hotel have a restaurant?
Yes, the Hotel has an award winning restaurant which serves
both local Como specialities plus national Italian dishes. Naturally,
the emphasis is on fish although steaks, pasta and more international
dishes are available. In Spring/Summer and early Autumn most
people dine in the open air or “all’aperto” on
our Patio Restaurant which is located on the Lake.
What
can you do on the Lake?
All
sorts of water sports including water skiing, swimming, beach volleyball,
snorkelling etc. NB the water is very deep therefore children should
be accompanied by an adult.
What
activities are there for Children?
There
are loats of things to do for kids. Swimming, Cycling including
Mountain Bike Hire, Hiking, Boat trips, Sailing and venture
to the Jungle Raider Park that consist of walking over the trees
in varius obstacle courses up in the air on Nepalese bridges. If
they’re good then at the end you can treat them to an ice
cream from Bellagio’s best ice cream parlour here at the
Hotel Metropole.
Does
the Hotel have private Spa?
No,
the hotel itself does not have its’ own Spa but is happy to suggest a
renomated one only a 3 minute walk from us.
Was
the Hotel Metropole formerly known as the Hotel Ambassadeur Metropole.
Yes
the Hotel Metropole used to be called the Hotel Ambassadeur Metropole
but the Ambassadeur was dropped a few years ago.
Are
you the same hotel as the Hotel Metropole in Como?
NO – DO
NOT confuse us with the Hotel Metropole in Como . Our hotel, the
Hotel Metropole Bellagio, is a completely different hotel so don’t
turn up here with a booking for the Metropole in the town of Como
and vice versa.
What
are the hours of room service and is breakfast in your room possible?
Room
service is from 07:30 until 21:30 and yes breakfast in your room
is possible although a small supplement will apply.
When
are you open?
The
Hotel Metropole is open from the beginning of March until the beginning
of November.
What
does Half Board Mean?
If you are booked on a half board basis this means that in
addition to your breakfast you are entitled to 1three course
meal either lunch or dinner.
