I fell in love with Bellagio when I spent a week there with
7 other women two years ago.....so in love that two of us went back last
September and now we are taking our two daughters with us this coming
September! This last trip we changed to the Metropole because it is
the only hotel right on the lake and we were absolutely delighted we
did. Being lakeside at dinner, and able to drop bits of breadsticks to
the swans and ducks treading water beneath, was a treat every night.

The 3 course dinners were absolutely wonderful with helpful
and friendly service and so were was the breakfast buffet. As a matter of
fact, we managed to scarf down enough rolls, eggs, fruit, meat, cheese
and juices to hold us until dinner with only 1 or 2 gelatos and
cappuchino's in between! Our room was on the 4th floor corner
overlooking the auto-ferry to the left and the magnificent lake in
front so we could hear the light sounds of the town and water was
always sparkling from our verandah where I would paint little water
colors in the warm sun. All the other hotels are on the other side of
the street and being right on the water was the best. Our room wasn't
large but it was pretty and we had a huge lovely pink bath with a
window over looking the shops below.

The service was always excellent and friendly and I've already
been in touch with them 3 times in the last week taking care of details and
they reply instantly with everything requested and all the necessary
information. Only thing the bartender didn't know how to do was make a
martini but we gave him a quick lesson and will test him when we
arrive! By the way, there is a beautiful roof deck with lounges and
tables and chairs for getting a little sun, napping, reading or
watching the sunset and it's just a few steps up from the 4th floor.
As far as we are concerned this is the only hotel we would ever stay
in because of the location and the wonderful service. I hope others
will enjoy it as much as we did.

"Loved the Metropole Hotel in Bellagio"! We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Hotel Metropole
on Lake Como. The position of the hotel is absolutely ideal - right on
the lakeside. Our accommodation on the third floor with a small
balcony overlooking the ferry and the side of the lake was just right
as the front balconies had the full sun all day and were too hot to
use! Our room was large and very comfortable and kept beautifully
clean and fresh. The food was excellent and the staff always friendly
and efficient. In our opinion Bellagio was by far the prettiest little resort
on the lakeside with shops and little cafes along the front. The shops were
set up some steepish cobbled streets so perhaps not ideal for anyone
not able to get around, but such a pretty place.

"Metropole makes Bellagio more special". I have just spent 5 days at
the Metropole on Lake Como in Bellagio. Our room was very nice and perhaps the
best one there. We were on first floor with a large terrace right on the lake.
The view spectacular and watching the ferry come and go very entertaining. The
hotel is very clean and the staff very accomodating. The breakfast
quite pleasant especially with the cheerful greeting from Francisco.
We loved Bellagio and the Metrople made it even more special.
